As an immigrant, I moved to the United States when I was nine years old. My English was not smooth, and I often felt out of place from the new community around me, but I found comfort and identity through hip hop. The music’s rhythm and emotion helped me cross the bridge between two significantly different cultures for the first time. This passion led me to the UCLA Summer Institute for Costume Design, where I created my first fashion collection blending hip hop style with the colors of my cultural roots, connecting who I was with who I am. I have been making art in different forms since I was 6, and I’ve learned to connect cultures, share emotions, and turn creativity into a bridge that brings people together.
